Welcome fellow users of the interweb!

My name is Katie Koballa and I am a travel agent based in North Carolina. I’m also a wife and a mother to 3 fur babies. I graduated from NCSU with a B.S in Zoology and a minor in Spanish. I worked as a veterinary technician for 6 years and a zookeeper for 4 years before pursuing travel as a career, and not just a hobby. I also dabble in acting from time to time. I am one of those rare people who are incredibly fortunate to work in fields that they love. I have been able to pursue all 3 of my greatest passions!

I love travel of all types but am especially attracted to adventure and eco-travel. I am a Disney fanatic. My husband proposed to me in front of Hogwarts at Harry Potter World in Orlando. I’m basically a “grown-up” 8-year-old. (Grown-up seems to be a bit of a stretch, really…)

My sobriety date is 2/3/2017. This is the single most important date of my life and I am very proud of it! I’ll be sharing some insight into “A Sober Alcoholic’s Guide to Travel” from time to time as it relates to certain places I’ve been. It’s tough out there for us non-drinkers!

I’m excited to start this journey with blogging. I’ll be spending the next few months catching up on all of my recent past adventures. Hopefully, it will help out some people in life categories such as, but not limited to: sobriety, travel, the entertainment industry, travel, cute fluffy animals, travel, and being a “millennial.” But most importantly, travel. If you don’t learn any life-altering lessons, perhaps you will at least be amused? I aim to please.

So, buckle up kids, ‘cuz this stream-of-consciousness stuff might get a little bumpy!
